Roadmap to Victory in 2010
Posted Dec 14th 2009
Dear Friends,
Before the year ends, I want to update you on all the momentum in my campaign for City Council, At-Large.
On the Ground, Canvassing Across DC:
We’ve attended events in every Ward, and have already begun knocking on doors across Wards 3, 4 and 7–even in the rain, sleet, and snow. We begin Ward 5 this Friday, December 18th, 6:00pm to 8:30pm, and Saturday, December 19th 4:00 PM 7:00 PM. (Join us; we’ll meet at the unit block of Randolph Place, NW. Call 202-277-8395 if you can join me.)
I’ve also begun greeting residents at Metro stops. This week, we greet residents 7:00AM Tuesday at Brookland, and Thursday at Stadium-Armory.
Fundraisers, Meet & Greets, and a Packed Schedule:
We’ve held a series of successful meet and greets in homes across the city, listening to what residents want from their next Councilman At-Large. We’ve received tremendous support at a series of successful fundraisers, large and small. To schedule your meet and greet or fundraiser, email: info@clarkray4council.com.
Over the coming days, I’ll continue our pace of events, and hope to see you at one of the following:
- Gertrude Stein Democratic Club Holiday Party, Dec. 14, 7pm, 1318 9th St. NW.
- “Family, Faith and Fairness,” A Rally for Marriage Equality, Dec.14, 7:00pm, Kennedy Recreation Center, 1401 7th St. NW.
- Georgetown Business Association Holiday Party, Dec 16, 6pm – 6:45pm, Historic Dumbarton House, 2715 Q St. NW.

- Ward 6 Democrats Annual Holiday Party, Dec 16, 7:30- 10pm Hawk & Dove Restaurant, 329 Pennsylvania Ave. SE.
- Washington City Paper’s Holiday Party, Dec 17, 8:30pm – 9:30pm, Madam’s Organ, 2461 18th St. NW.

- Fundraiser for the Help Foundation, Dec 19, 2pm – 3pm.
- Ward 5 Friends of Clark Ray, “Holiday Give Back,” Dec. 20, 2pm – 5pm, 46 Randolph Place NE, with toy donations benefiting the Harry Thomas Sr. Recreation Center.
Online and On the Air:
We’re also maximizing our online communications: short videos of our canvassing here, Twitter feed here, Facebook here and our regularly-updated website. I’ve also shared the excitement of our campaign, and discussed DC’s toughest issues, in a series of TV and radio appearances, with the latest an appearance on Jonetta Rose Barras‘ show tomorrow.
There’s so much more that we’ve done, and much yet to do, but we’re proud of our exciting start.
We all know that DC’s problems continue, even as our city’s leaders find themselves increasingly at odds with one another. My campaign is about moving beyond the personalities and fights, to finding solutions. That happens by being out in our neighborhoods and listening to you; as an involved resident, I hope you’ll join me. Simply email: nick@clarkray4council.com, or call us at 202-705-1486.
I also want to hear your advice and insights, directly, on any facet of our effort. Feel free to email me directly, at any time, at: clark@clarkray4council.com.
I wish you and your family a safe, healthy and happy Holiday Season.
Clark Ray
